This Privacy Policy explains how Pass Your Electrician Exam(“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website at https://passyourelectricianexam.comand our iOS companion app (together, the “Service”). The website and the app share one account and one backend, so this policy covers both.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Study activity. The questions you answer, your answers and scores, mock-exam attempts, your selected NEC edition, and your target exam date — so we can show your progress and readiness.
- Purchase information. When you buy on our website, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and your entitlement status; we do not store your full card details.
- Technical data. Basic session data (such as a session token and, on the web, IP address and user agent) needed to keep you securely signed in.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service — sign-in, your question bank, progress, and mock exams.
- To grant access to the features your plan includes.
- To respond to support requests.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising in the app.
The iOS companion app
The iOS app is included with the full plan. It signs you in to the same account and reads the same study data as the website. The app does not sell or share your data, and it does not contain in-app purchases — any purchase happens on our website. Your session token is stored securely in the device keychain.
Third-party services
- Stripe— payment processing (website only). See Stripe’s privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
- Hosting / database — your data is stored on our managed PostgreSQL database on infrastructure we control.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — in the app under Account → Delete account, or by emailing us. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, study activity, mock attempts, and entitlements from our database. To request deletion by email, contact support@passyourelectricianexam.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at support@passyourelectricianexam.com.
Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for adults preparing for a professional licensing exam and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
